Declaration of the High Level International Conference on the implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Life", 2005-2015
The year 2015 is a crucial year in terms of both finalizing the MDGs and the International Decade of Action "Water for Life", 2005-2015, as well as launching Sustainable Development Goals, and in this regard the necessity for defining of further steps in the development of the SDGs related to water resources.
Since the year 2015 terminates the International Decade for Action "Water for Life", it is obvious that there is a need for comprehensive review and assessment of the activities carried out for the implementation of the Decade goals and planning further activities for the post 2015 period.
Since the High-level interactive dialogue in New York is a one-day event, we think that the Dushanbe Conference would provide a good opportunity in order to comprehensively evaluate the progress and exchange views on the implementation of the Decade. We would like to involve all stakeholders to the discussion of the outcomes of the Decade. Therefore, the Government of Tajikistan would like to invite alongside with the high-level governmental representatives from the UN member states, the international and regional institutions, the NGOs, river basin organizations, women association and children and youth organizations, the private sector, etc.
