INBO promotes Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at basin level by leading and contributing to various initiatives, with three main objectives:
- to make this approach known to as many people as possible, and in particular to political and financial decision-makers, including (and above all) outside the water sector,
- to increase the resources (human, technical and financial) allocated to basin management.
- accelerate the deployment of actions on the ground to meet the challenges of sustainable development, adaptation to climate change, preservation of biodiversity and cross-border cooperation,
These initiatives involve INBO, its members and partners and can take the form of advocacy campaigns, twinning and capacity building to disseminate the actions recommended for the successful implementation of the IWRM pillars.
