The International Network of Basin Organisations (hereafter “INBO”) is a non-profit association, governed by the French law of July 1st, 1901.

The purpose of this policy is to inform you, as a user of this website and/or as a member or partner of INBO, of the principles that govern the way in which INBO collects, uses and stores your personal data.

INBO, in its capacity as data controller, is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy, in accordance with the French law n°78-17 of 6 January 1978 on Data Processing, Data Files and Individual Liberties and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 (hereinafter the “GDPR”). This policy is steered and implemented by the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of INBO’s Permanent Technical Secretariat.

How we process your personal data

INBO may collect, consult, use, modify, store, transmit and delete personal data in the course of its activities.

INBO collects personal data when:

– You fill in the contact form in the dedicated section;

– You contribute to our publications (Resource Centre, Manuals, Letters, etc.);

– You become a member of INBO or one of its regional networks;

– You participate in INBO activities and/or events.

Depending on the processing carried out, the data collected may include at most:

– Your personal data (first and last name, date and place of birth);

– Your contact details (e-mail address, telephone number, postal address);

– Your professional details (job title, organisation);

– Your identification data (IP address). INBO automatically receives and records data enabling it to identify the hardware and browser you are using. This data is collected to enable you to access the site’s functions and for statistical purposes.

Purpose of processing your personal data

The information collected by INBO is intended to enable it to:

– Respond to a request from you;

– Add your contribution to its publications;

– Organise its activities and events, in which you have indicated that you wish to participate;

– Inform you of forthcoming events and news, in accordance with your communication preferences; – To produce anonymous statistics in order to improve navigation on its site.

Legal basis for processing personal data

The processing carried out by INBO is based on:

– Your consent;

– A legal obligation;

– The execution of a contract;

– INBO’s legitimate interests.

Receivers and transfer of personal data to third parties

INBO does not sell your personal data to third parties.

INBO only shares your data, where necessary, with:

– Trusted third parties (in particular funders) to meet its regulatory or contractual obligations;

– Its service providers and subcontractors within the meaning of the GDPR (emailing and mailing services, banks, audits). Where applicable, INBO ensures that these third parties undertake to keep this information confidential and to process it in accordance with the regulations in force.

Data retention period

INBO only keeps the data collected for as long as is necessary for the operations for which it was collected, in compliance with the regulations in force.

The purpose of the processing and the length of time the data is kept are indicated when the data is collected.

Securing information

In accordance with article 32 of the GDPR, INBO implements all necessary and appropriate technical, logical and organizational measures to guarantee the level of security best suited to the risks incurred when processing your personal data.

The computers and servers used to store personal data are installed in a secure environment: the server rooms are only accessible by authorized personnel (INBO Permanent Technical Secretariat’s IT department).

The security policy in place prohibits any attempt at improper use of the information system, both from INBO’s internal computer networks and from outside.

Exercising rights

In accordance with the regulations in force, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your personal data, and the right to limit and object to the processing of this data.
