The 22nd International Euro-INBO Conference will be held in Parma, Italy, at the Paganini Convention Centre, from Monday 19 to Friday 23 May 2025.
This event is organised by INBO at the invitation of the Po Basin Authority and the Municipality of Parma, in partnership with the French Office for Biodiversity. It will bring together representatives of the Member States of the European Union, national, regional and local water authorities and administrations, hydrographic authorities, basin organisations and all stakeholders involved in the management of water resources.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences on the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) and its associated directives, while exploring the links with other regulations and environmental policies. As every year, the conference will also be open to delegates from EU candidate countries, Eastern European countries, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia and neighbouring regions wishing to draw inspiration from European approaches to the planning of integrated water resources management (IWRM).
Through workshops and sessions, this edition of the conference will highlight several key issues related to IWRM at the basin level, including water-efficient agriculture through the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach, adaptation to climate change to better manage droughts and floods, improving water quality in the face of emerging pollutants, and restoring rivers to promote biodiversity and the free flow of watercourses.
Simultaneous interpretation will be available to facilitate discussions: in English and Italian on Tuesday 20 May, and in English, Italian and French on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 May.
