We are therefore launching a call for contributions, to show the richness of the actions and analyzes carried out by the 192 members of our Network coming from 88 countries, and any other partner organization.

In your contributions, we invite you to comply with our editorial line to share experience on the operational implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in river basins. This concept aims to coordinate development and management of resources, to maximize economic and social benefits, without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems.

To illustrate and operationalize this common theme, we suggest that you refer to the following tools, whose importance is known to achieve relevant and lasting results:

  •     Governance (participatory management, legal framework, public policies, etc.);
  •     Funding (role of States, donors, citizens, position of the "user pays – polluter pays" principle, etc.);
  •     Knowledge (data: collection, processing, establishment of an Information System, training, etc.);
  •     Planning (strategic focus and practical tools, training, etc.).

It is possible, for those who wish so, to make additional proposals for contributions not specifically dealing with these tools.

The editorial guidelines are simple:

 Articles of maximum 2,500 characters, spaces included (approximately 1 page in Arial 11 or 9) in Word format,
Illustrations (logos, photos, maps, diagrams, or infographics...) in high definition (JPEG format, size bigger than 700 K).

Please send your contribution to the Permanent Technical Secretariat (IOWater - Paris), exclusively by e-mail to riob@riob.org
no later than Friday 10 July.
